Hello Astros,
Please read the following for an important change to our school's traffic flow for the upcoming school year. The North Drive on our campus will be closed for the entire year due to construction. This closure will likely cause significant congestion, particularly during morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal.
All campus traffic will now enter through the southernmost drive, near the fire station. We know this will be an adjustment, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and consideration as we navigate these new traffic patterns. To help with the transition, our staff will be in the parking lot to assist and monitor traffic flow. We will make adjustments to the procedures as needed to ensure they are as safe and efficient as possible.
To help you prepare, please review the updated traffic patterns below.
Arrival:
If you are dropping off a student, please proceed along the south drive to our East parking lot. Students will enter through Door 5. The East parking lot will be one-way traffic. After dropping off your student, please exit the campus using the south drive. Please note that only northbound traffic will be allowed to exit.
Dismissal:
The West parking lot will be closed to all parent traffic and will be used exclusively for school buses. We ask that you do not arrive on campus before 3:00 p.m. to pick up your student. When you arrive, you will be directed to our East parking lot, which will be one-way traffic. After picking up your student, please exit the campus from the south drive. Again, only northbound traffic will be allowed to exit.
Please note that dismissal will be especially congested between 2:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. due to our 21 after-school buses. During this time, the West parking lot will be closed, and no left turns will be allowed onto campus for southbound traffic at the stoplight. Visitors who arrive during this window risk being blocked in until the buses depart, which we anticipate will be around 3:25 p.m. While we expect some delays during the first few weeks of school, our goal is to open the West parking lot as soon as the buses leave to help reduce congestion.
If possible, we encourage you to pick up your student after 3:30 p.m. Students will be supervised in the Astro Cafe until you arrive.
