Shepard Bands
Welcome to the Alan B. Shepard Band. The Shepard band program consists of 3 curricular courses: Performance Band (601), Honors Performance Band (602) and Preparatory Band (605). Students in each of these courses will be assessed on their musical proficiency through solo, small-group, and large-group evaluation. Members of each of these ensembles will be expected to perform at a variety of concerts throughout the year outside of the regular school day.
Additionally, the band program also hosts 1 co-curricular ensemble and 3 extra curricular ensembles: Marching Astros-the competitive marching band is co-curricular. Jazz Band, Show Choir Combo and Pit Band are extra curricular. Members of each of these ensembles will be expected to perform at a variety of concerts throughout the year outside of the regular school day.
